Digital Accessibility Optimization
Included below is a snapshot of experience and successes in assisting leading organizations with accessibility optimization:
- Supported major technology companies in creating Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs) for products sold to the Government.
- Collaborated with a large financial services organization to establish its Accessibility Program from the ground up. This included presenting to the UX team, hosting Accessibility and Assistive Technology days, and helping develop one of the leading accessibility programs in the sector.
- Assisted a global, multi-brand beauty and cosmetics company in creating an accessible components library to unify accessibility efforts across all brands. Also made all video content accessible, becoming one of the first organizations to implement both audio descriptions and closed captions.
- Helped a national pet retail chain integrate various teams with differing accessibility knowledge by creating a monthly-updated scorecard presented quarterly to leadership. Also facilitated lunch and learn sessions to promote best practices and cross-team collaboration.
- Ensured the accessibility of a risk management and compliance platform and created an Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR).
- Created a shared resource center and made critical information accessible for a U.S. government agency supporting international development.
- Provided training and scripting for users of speech recognition software and participated in a Community of Practice focused on disability inclusion at a global development institution.
